Do we have energy in abundance?
Barbara Koch, Direktorin, Upper Rhine Cluster for Sustainability Research
This question is not easy to answer, because first we have to clarify what kind of energy we are talking about. Starting with the energy demand, the question of energy supply will also be considered under the aspect of climate change and technical developments, taking Germany and the Upper Rhine as examples. The extent to which energy conservation can also contribute to the issue of energy supply is a topic that will also be examined. The question of whether we have an abundance of energy or whether it is becoming scarce can therefore certainly not be answered with a simple yes or no, but one can only approach this topic.
